Compress JPEG online
JPEG is lossy: each re-save can introduce new artifacts. Start from your highest-quality source file, then resize once and choose a quality level you can live with (often 75–85).

JPEG-specific tips
Blocking artifacts show up first in skies and skin tones. Zoom to 100% while tuning quality. Slight downsampling removes noise that would otherwise waste bytes.
Exif metadata can add a few kilobytes; hosting or re-encoding may strip it depending on workflow — check privacy if GPS tags are present.
Pair with other formats
Need transparency? JPEG cannot — use PNG or JPEG→PNG conversion only when you accept a larger file, or WebP when the platform allows.
For print, avoid heavy JPEG compression; export a higher-quality file from your editor and use this tool for web previews only.
